Weird Cable Terminals

hello to you rigging gurus

my lifelines need to be shortened , I thought I could remove the terminals (see photo attached) cut the wite to the required length then re-screw them on .
the 2 part terminal , has a female part which seemed integral of the wire body (the one on the left side)..or is there a way to loosen it??
advice needed

thanks
georges

Hard to tell in your pic, but most lifeline terminals I've seen are swaged, and can't be reused.

Look at C Sherman Johnson marine terminals. Yours look like that type. Swaged part is 1 time use.
