Transfastner

I am looking at installing a Transfastener set up on my boat instead of Jack lines. Has any one out there ever seen this done? It would be great to get hold of some picture of an existing installation. The manufactures of the gear tell me it was originally developed for yacht racing.

Quite a neat device - but it means your jackstays have to be wire. Having nearly gone overboard on a couple of occassions due to standing on the jackstay, and it rolling out from underfoot, I would not have anything other than flat webbing as the jackstay.

The "Transfastener" doesn't eliminate the need for Jack Lines (cable system).

My intention is to mount the steel cable in board instead of under foot. This means that if I slip or fall I land where my feet were instead of over the side of the boat. I would have a short lanyard with only enough slack so that the transfasner runs along virtually beside me as I walked/crawled the length of the boat. I mostly sail solo and I have heard stories of solo sailer falling over board when using jack lines and were unable to climb back on board. I never want to find out how hard it is to climb back on board a yacht doing 6/7knts while I'm ploughing along in the water beside it.

Anyway back to the original question. Has anyone seen this system in use?
