Thingy for closing batten pockets?

There's a flat 'stick' thing that is used to close a velcro fastening batten pocket after a batten is pushed into the pocket.

If I hadn't lost mine, I wouldn't have to ask what it is called so as to order a new one. They are usually just a little narrower than the pocket and long enough to snug the velcro fastener in to hold.

Can someone tell me the official sail loft name for such a tool?

thanks

Jim

The official name is a batten with a hole drilled in it (for a wrist lanyard). Seriously don't over think it, grab an old batten cut it to length, smooth over the edges and off you go.

Doyle fold back the last inch of the Velcro retaining strap into a pocket, and supply a 3/8" f/glass push rod. A mini-blind rod works great.
