Stay Adjuster with Quick Pin?

Hey guys, new to the forum here. I've got a little DS-16 sailboat that I'm fixing up. Before that I sailed on my dads little racing boat and he had stay adjusters that had clevis pins that couldn't fall out and didn't have the annoying split ring. I trailer my boat so every time I want to sail I've got to deal with trying to get the split ring in the clevis pin hole while also pulling on the stay and I cant stand it. Takes 1 to many hands and if you drop anything by accident you've got to start all over again.

I found that ronstan has a stay adjusters which I think are similar to the ones on my dads boat.

Seems like these have bad reviews everywhere about how they are flimsy and easily bend. Don't feel like paying $70 bucks to have to junk em in a few years. Does anyone know of any other brands that have the quick clevis pin (sorry not really sure what its called). My dad bought his probably 20 years ago so he has no clue what brand his are.

Re: Stay Adjuster with Quick Pin?

JRJ, one name for the push button clevis pin is "quick pin". See the linked ad for one possible source. There are lots of others, possibly less expensive.

Good luck in your quest... they do make life easier!
