Sailing under a kite on a light day on flat water is one of the huge pleasures of the sailing sport. If you have a spinnaker in your kit, do give it a second chance - on a nice sunny day when wind is 10 knots or less.

It does take some learning, as anything else in boating does, but the reward is immense.

Simply avoid sailing with skippers who do not know better or who push boats with crews that are not experienced enough. But otherwise: GO FOR IT!

At the bottom of the pile of sails that came with the boat is a spinnaker that may or may not fit the boat. The P.O. didnt know anything about it and I havent taken it out of the bag. If I play with it later, I will take some experienced foredeck men with me to keep me out of trouble. I did Antigua Race week a couple of times but I was crewing on Cruising Class boats so it was all white sails. I enjoy light air sailing, so I probably will try it. _____Grant.
