Sailmakers?

I am looking at different new sail possibilities. I have heard some very strong reasons to go with a local person for a good fit. And.... National Sail Supply has a pricing structure that is too hard to outrightly dismiss.

My boat is a wonderful old classic chevy with new stuff being added and old stuff being replaced with new stuff. She is an older classic; she is not a race horse and never will be. But she is fair and able, curvey and comfortable.

I am not sure I need perfect fit sails -- but maybe I do.

anyways, enough of the contextual rambling: Does anyone have experience with offshore sailmakers? Has anyone bought sails from National Sail Supply? of course I am nervous about dropping grands for an across the sea product.

guidance and statements of wisdom would be very much appreciated!
