Whenever I was talking to my
surveyor about sail care for the
boat I just bought he mentioned that he always has his clients store their sales with a loft during the
winter months where they should be cleaned and repaired seasonally. This came a a bit of a revelation to me. I am of the mind the you down rig, throw the
sails in a cool dry place over the
winter, like your garage and, presto chango, come spring they go back on the
boat and they are ready for another season. Do people, other than the super wealthy "yachtsmen", do this or it just yet another way to throw
money at your boat?
