Resen Sails

Hello, Im buying a furling genoa and a lazy bag for my JOD 24. I checked some sailmakers and I decided to buy the Resen Sails, specially because they have good prices.
But I began contacting the sailmaker in the 22th of December 2017, and till now ( 6th of April) they didnt give me an idea when they can deliver the sail and sail bag. They say they are busy and the answers of my mails take so long.
My email of 2th of March has not yet been answered.
You think this is a normal situation? What do you advise me?
Best Regards
Paulo

The industry standard delivery time on cut and sew sails is normally 4 weeks. Are the their sails made in eastern europe?

Re: Resen Sails

If the industry standard is four weeks I'm going to adjust my expectations. Never in my life have I ordered a sail and had it completed in four weeks. Thanks for the tip.

Standard or no, that's a damn long time to wait for production. In your place I'd be looking for a way out of the deal. Have you paid a (substantial) deposit? If not, you could consider just cancelling the order and going with a more reputable sailmaker. Rollie Tasker is fairly nearby and has a good reputation for quality and businesslike transactions, and I am sure there are others. I've always advised folks to deal with local lofts. May be a touch dearer than the on line chaps, but you can go to the loft and shout at them... and easily return sails for corrections of fit, etc.

You have my sympathy!

Re: Resen Sails

I finally received a mail.
And I got some discount and upgraded the sailcloth to a better one for free.
They are ready to send to production, and it's ready very fast (2 weeks production).
Tomorrow I will transfer 50% of the amount to their IBAN number. Then I will pay the rest of the 50% when the sail is finish.
I would be more comfortable paying with the credit card instead of making a bank transferring, but I think its the company rule.

Thanks for the attencion.

Hello again.
I finally received the sail and the lazy bag.
The sail has a good quality for the price. And the lazy bag has a very good quality.
It worth waiting this time (about 5 months) for the order and Im very happy with the materials.
Thanks a lot for your support
