Replacing 19 foot Aluminum spinnaker poles.

I have 2 x 4" x 19' Aluminum spinnaker poles I would like to replace them with Carbon Spinnaker poles.

Since they are very expensive new and I'm using them for cruising only, I would like to find seconded hand ones or new ones at an affordable price I would reuse my pole hardware ends.

Does anyone know when it is best to search for these items?

Many thanks for reading this request.

It depends on where you are, if anywhere close to an old TP-52 stomping grounds you might be able to find an old one that was replaced with an asymmetric. But this is going to be pretty difficult to source honestly. Most boats simply don't replace poles until they break.

Now if you want to find an aluminium pole.... That's a lot easier.

Re: Replacing 19 foot Aluminum spinnaker poles.

Hi Greg,

I never thought of TP-52 - Good call. I'm now 70 so my aluminium poles are in good shape but getting too heavy to set safely.

Thanks

John
