Looks like ink rather than machine oil. Should have been picked up by quality check. Normally warranty replacement doesn't incur duty or tax, its listed on the invoice which is also $0 value.
cheers mate...I was wondering if it could be ink (oil shouldn't be so black aye). sailmaker says they believe it is machine oil.

thanks for the info re tax+duty for a warranty replacement.

one more question: what would you think would be a fair price reduction if we keep it?
