Recommendations of places to buy line online?
Hey folks,
I'm looking for some running rigging online - I buy pretty much everything through Amazon Prime these days, but I don't see many options on there for running rigging, so I'm looking for a dealer that will be my go-to for the next few years.
Does anyone have a recommendation for an online dealer for running rigging? I'm not necessarily looking for the cheapest, more the best value. Customer service, support (very rarely needed, but nice to have), and extra stuff like good prices on high-quality custom splicing would also be useful.
Thanks in advance!

Try R & W Rope, also known as the rope warehouse.

Where are you? I could recommend a chandler in Gosport England if it will help.

Cajun does a good job. But for halyards, the stuff stretches pretty bad. If you know what you want, eBay can be a great spot for mid-end line.

Southern Ropes in Cape Town. SR manufacture their own ropes including those from dyneema, vectran fibers and are very cost effective as the Rand is low against major currencies. While there we took the opportunity, as well as many other cruisers, to replace or stock their lines. Not sure they deliver.

Re: Recommendations of places to buy line online?
I have bought miles of line from Dale's Rope at 244 7th Street SW Hamilton, AL 35570. (205) 767-9308. They are not only extremely reasonable on price, but the ship insanely quickly and will cut anything you need in any quantities. I've probably bought fifteen thousand feet of line from them and I never plan to use anyone else. I do a lot of re-rigging for refurb projects and for my own fleet of training and charter boats.

If you belong to Boat U.S. they offer a discount. Look at supplier offers on their web site.

Re: Recommendations of places to buy line online?
I see you are in the SF Bay area. Is there a reason you just don't go to Svendsen's in Alameda? Their prices are very close to online and their rig shop can do any eyes, splices or any other rope work needed. They have a reasonable selection of various line types and sizes, as well.
No affiliation, but I do shop there regularly and have recently bought genoa sheets and a mainsheet from them.

Re: Recommendations of places to buy line online?
We have a service out of Sandusky, Ohio that offers boat rentals, leasing, lease option to buy and boat sales. As my partner is the main refurbisher of the boats we buy, he has a good inventory of boat part (most is sailboat related). Although most equipment is used, it is in very good condition and much cheaper than you might find it elsewhere. If that is of interest to you, contact me and I will set you up with Jeff ( I do the handling of all things techno as he is consternated by most everything in that area). I an put you in touch with him via phone and he will tell you if he has what you want and how much. I will be contacted by him and arrange all from there. Sorry if this seems strange but I am not sorry to say that it is worth the effort and monies saved (seems that is what you are look at anyway). As were are not a business per se, our cost and therefore your saving can be significant. We cut out the middle man!
