Re-Cutting an Asymetrical Spinnaker

I guess the basic questions is this possible?

If I have an asymmetrical spinnaker, say with a luff of ~45', can a sail maker cut this down to one with a luff of 39'? Obviously cutting other dimensions proportionately.

I realize the pretty patten might get disrupted a bit, but will the sail still sail correctly?

Anyone do this?

PS, the sail maker here said it could be done and the sail will work just fine. But I guess I am looking for unbiased opinions before I spend any money on this endeavor.

Not a big issue , done a few of them in the past.. A good sailmaker can do the job easy.....
