Purchasing new mainsail and confused...

We are in New Zealand and need to replace our mainsail. We want to use a local sailmaker primarily because we have in mast furling. We have received several quotes, and each quote has different fabric and different weights. We have a Tayana 48 tall rig. One quote uses
10.65 Bainbridge Ocean Premium plus fabric. Another uses 8.77 Marblehead Premium Dacron by Challenge Sailcloth.

I cant tell the difference between the fabrics other than the ounces per square foot. Any thoughts on fabric differences? We are blue water liveaboard sailors and want sails that will last. Would appreciate any thoughts.
