Privilege 39 Connection forestay crossbeam

Hallo sailors,
I am new in The multihull scene with my Privilege 39 and noticed on my boat that my forestay attachment has no Connection to The crossbeam, as it is usually with other cartamarans. The crossbeam just Passes threw The middlehull without touching The Laminate. It is just fixed to The middlehull with sikaflex.
Now a friend tells me, this can not work, because The crossbeam has to hold The forestay Mount and has to be Connection to it.
Does anybody know, how it has to be, and how it was done Originals by Privilege ?
Thanks for any advice
Pablito

Re: Privilege 39 Connection forestay crossbeam

The Gull Striker and it's massive associated stainless steel wire provide all the support needed for the crossbeam and forward end of the middle hull (center nacelle). The Gull Striker is a powerful jumper strut that functions similar to the spreaders on the mast supporting the mast and keeping it in alignment.

In 50,000 miles of sailing during our circumnavigation, I never had any issues with the Gull Striker, associated stainless steel wire, or front end of the center nacelle. It is built like a tank up there. The Privilege 39 is overbuilt by several magnitudes of strength.

Over the years I have never seen a Privilege 39 that had issues in this area.

The Privilege requires maintenance like any other catamaran, but it is overbuilt which creates a large safety margin in terms of structure.

The only time I had any structural concerns was in the Indian Ocean sailing through tsunami debris after the global tsunami, and I placed oars down the front of the bows to protect them because there are giant trees floating in the water that were partially submerged along their length.

Re: Privilege 39 Connection forestay crossbeam

Thanks Dave for your fast reply.
What I have to know is, if there is any Connection between the forestay and the crossbeam whether the crossbeam is Laminated with the middlehull or the forestay attachment is tightend to the crossbeam. In my case the crossbeam just Passes through the Front of the middlehull without touching it.
Greetings Pablito
