New to Standing Rigging - How Tight Do I Go ?

Hey there I have a hunter 701 23ft sailer. Just threw the mast up there today (i'm an ex dingy sailer) so standing rigging had to last an afternoon not a season. It has a back and fore stay, a set of cap shrouds through spreaders and then four shrouds from half way up the tight do the barrel pins need tightened to...

of course as I ask this question it is only 5 hours since we put the mast up and it is now pitch black and has started blowing a gale....I hope when I get down tomorrow to the marina that however tight I put them today was tight enought for the moment

First a gauge would be recommended. The size and material of the wire will determine how much tension is should have. And this link is a good start........

But on a 23' boat it's not so critical, good and snug so it twangsssss was goodnuf for my ole 23.
