Re: New Sails (Polar Discussions)

I will work on pulling the polars out of the computer over the weekend. I am using the old RayTech software and using the ultrasonic knotmeter which has significantly improved the stability of the numbers.

I don't have the ability (yet) to display the percentage polar performance in the cockpit, however, it is really nice to go below, look at the computer after getting the boat setup for a long board (once I clear the mainland I have a 24 nmi run to Catalina Island) and I get to look at the performance over a several hour period of time in a mostly constant current/wind configuration.

My goal for the winter is to be able to pull the data off the bus for the entire trip and then be able to do statistical information but currently they are manually created and slowly adjusted each trip if something is different by more than perhaps 5%

What would be the best way to present the information. I can create a graphic, take a snapshot of the screen, or provide raw data points for the current polars.
