Need Some Help with New Main / Stackpack

I need some advice...

I bought a new mainsail. Yes I am very excited about it.

I changed the design to be a fully battened main so that I could increase the roach and make her sail a bit faster in lighter air. I also wanted that lovely ease of "slab reefing"...

...However...

now I am having some problems with the bag suporting the aft end of the sail when it is down. The bag rools off to the side of the boom towards the leech end. The jacks do not seem to be supporting the bag equally from luff to leech.

I am also having some trouble when I shake out reefs with the batten ends catching in the lazy jacks.

I have tried using bungy on the jacks so that when I ease the leeward lazy jack it pulls forward of the leech during a hoist but then the leech end of the sail flops out of the bag.

I am using the same bag the original sail was in and the sail fits in well when dropped, but even with the lazy jacks really tight it does not support the extra weight of all the battens in the leech of the sail.

I know it must be tied to the placement of the attachment points of the jacks - there are currently 3 points on each side of the bag - but I dont know how to fix it without alot of trial and error.

I hope I am explaining this so that it makes sense.

The boat is a 42' sloop.

Has anyone made this transition and has a solution?

Mine sometimes droops over a little as well, but I just throw it over the other side a bit and it stays for awhile. No biggie.

The new full length battens have added significant weight to the sail especially at the leach. You may need to add an additional down-line and re-space the other down-lines. Also the line to the end of the boom may need to be stronger than what you used before.

May way - lazy jacks on bungee loops so when eased move frwd towards the mast, then up goes the sail. I hate when it catches (it still does once in a while) but we used a non-full battens sail for a momo and will NEVER go back to that. I know the Pardeys would disapprove ;-)
