Need Rigger in Panama

Hello,

I need to find someone who can swag 2 Ronson insulators for our SSB system to our 5/16 aft stay. The boat is on the atlantic side in Boca Del Toro. We can travel with the stay and parts anywhere in Panama if needed. We are planning to leave for Cartegenia, Colombia soon for a top coat.

Any help or suggestions would be great

Leslie

If you haven't already bought the swage insulators and/or can return them, why not buy Norseman or StaLok insulators and install them yourself. Would take you a couple of hours for you and a friend and I'd feel way safer with the N or SL insulator than a swaged one.

Thanks for the input -- We unfortunately ordered the wrong stuff and are now faced with the problem. Shipping is a bear as well -- if anyone has ideas for shippping here that would be great too --

In bocas del toro? Just like everywhere in Panama, you can order from Marine Warehouse whatever you need for the boat. If in a hurry, they get it to you in 3 days or so with Fedex and they give you 60% discount on the Fedex costs!

I think there's a rigger around somewhere in Panama but I have never seen any swages being done here. You can book a cheap flight to Ft. Lauderdale with Spirit Air from Tocumen Airport, bring the stay and have the swaging done there. Sounds crazy but we've done that flight for some shopping and it was great.

ciao!
Nick.

I'm sure there is someone in Colon at Shelter Bay Marina who can help you find a swager, or failing that you could easily get it done in Cartagena.
