Need Expert Rigger - Washington, DC

I am finally getting around to learning how to sail my boat, but am having difficulties with the mainsheet setup, plus the sheave fell off top of mast, the halyard came down and I don't know how to use a bosuns chair, etc etc. I'm supposed to make a trip from Wash DC to Annapolis in three weeks but the boat is not going to be ready if I have to figure it out myself. I want a professional to come fix what's wrong because I'm going to have my kids with me and things need to be safe and functional. Can anyone recommend a rigger in DC? I'm anchored out near the Woodrow wilson bridge.

Go over to the Alexandria Seaport Foundation in Olde Towne Alexandria. They are right on the waterfront and should be easy to find. Ask for Joe Youcha. He's the director and knows tons about boats. He should be able to help you.

Should be a short dinghy ride for you. They have a dock you can pull up to as well as I remember. Great people.

Thanks again Doodles. I have been trying to reach them by phone but no luck yet. No voice mail either. I may just walk up the bike path to the waterfront and give em a holler.

There aren't many marine services that far up the Potomac. Your best bet is to start calling riggers between Annapolis and Solomons and find someone willing to drive over. If you've got sheaves falling off the masthead some folks aren't going to be very interested in going up your mast.
