Hello Island planet
Thanks for that, I'll put plastic milk container between the fitting and the mast. Should I be using aluminium or stainless shank rivets? I've a lot to learn but much prefer to do things right the first time,

I rarely use rivets. I'd drill, tap, and use machine screws.
