Missing the Galatea track

I used to love the perforated aluminum toe rail track (called in North America Galatea track after C&C's use on the sloop Galatea). You could attach an outside lead, staysail, vang or spinnaker sheet anywhere along the rail. I think they were discontinued as "too industrial". On my Beneteau I've had to add outboard tracks and blocks at great expense for the same functionality (and now need to re-bed to stop a leak). Does anyone else lament their passing?

Yes. Me. Fortunately, our boat has a rather ingenious perforated toe rail that also functions as a rubbing strake. We're lucky, it came that way.
