Mast base - G10?

I have an aluminum mast base today...but I'm thinking of replacing it now when mast is off and also the mast base itself. The blocks will also be mounted to this plate...

Is G10 a good way to go? Today the plate is about half inch thick. What thickness should I go with G10? Doing new rigging as well...

Re: Mast base - G10?

Hello Andreas,
Do you have pictures of it to show?
Is the aluminum damaged or corroded? Could it be cleaned and re-anodized?
A coworker is anodizing demonstration pieces at work, bright blue and red. I want to have him do something for my boat...
