Apparently not!

Sounds like the only folks using a light air mainsail are the ones that wrote the Good Old Boat article:

Ellen and Ed sail around the world in their NorSea 27 Entr'acte

Doesn't seem to be anything about it on their website, but you can clearly see it in their boat photos.

Seems like a logical idea to me.

We have one on our Nor'Sea Guenevere and LOVE it!!!

In the light air of the Sea of Cortez in the summer, other than the engine it's the only thing that keeps us moving.

Our boat is our bedroom, the world has become our living room.
