Jib and staysail track and cars

I'm ready to drill the holes in my new deck for the track for the jib and staysail on the port and starboard side deck. Is there an alternative for the track and cars setup?

Barberhaulers can work very well if the sail isn't to low cut. Or even just a fixed lead, and adjusting the tack lanyard length.

Yes, a single block or new hi-tech ring will allow an adjustable jib sheet height angle by using a line to raise or lower another ring, through which the sheet is led. A posting on here by "Dockhead" explains it well and with pictures.
