How to Tighten Jib Block Solo ?

I need to tighten the nut from inside the cabin while holding the slotted screw topside. Or maybe tighten from topside while holding wrench somehow from inside? Advice please...

Re: How to tighten jib block solo?

Snap a pair of Vise Grips on the nut horizontally with the handle of the grip up against someting to prevent the nut from spinning whilst tightening, "Usually" works every time.

Re: How to tighten jib block solo?

I've seen vise grips used to clamp on 1 x 1 or pipe to OTHER vise grips, which were used to grab the nut. The "extended" grips would eventually hit a bulkhead or the mast, stop the turning movement, and the dogging down of the bolt could proceed solo.
