Question How to attach staysail clew to boom

All,

I have a PSC 34 with a LeFiell staysail boom that uses a hanked on staysail that's loose footed.

I'm not sure how to attach the clew. There isn't an outhaul on the boom, just a small cheek block on the side of the boom with a cleat about a foot forward.

It doesn't seem like I should just run a line from the clew to the block as it looks like it wouldn't be strong enough and would chafe.

I'm wondering if I'm missing a part like a block or something that attaches to one of the holes in the boom end cap.

Anyone know how this should be rigged?

Thanks,

Shrimp

Re: How to attach staysail clew to boom

You surmised correctly. Just run a line from your clew to the block and tie a couple hitches to the cleat. I recently added roller furling to my staysail so I was able to do away with the cleat.
