Help ID Brass Parts

got something very similar in the galley for hooking onto in rough seas. Bolted on thru sturdy cabinet framing at waist height. where did yours come from? might give a hint as to purpose.

i bought a bunch of old boat parts,deck cleats controls ,etc. so i am guessing these are marine related

Yes, they are pad eyes and they are bronze. Not brass.

The square shape look like they might be made to use for a boarding ladder.

thanks, i finally got it, bronze is non corrosive to ,example "salt water",,a razor would be brass,just plain water.
at lease this is what i have been told.

I've been looking for a couple of those if you'd like to sell them. I've got a boarding ladder but no pad eyes to go with them.

The pad eye in your fingers looks a bit thin at the top. It may not be near its original strength.
