Have You Ever Re-Built a Navtec Hydraulic Backstay ?

It appears that the seals in our Navtec backstay are totally shot. I've been searching thru different threads and it appears that a DIY re-build is very doable.
Has anyone in the forum ever done it? I just had to spring for a new depth guage setup so I'm looking to save a few $. This being said, I'm pretty mechanically capable.
Thanks
Doons

I think the problem with a DIY re-build is that Navtec probably won't sell you the parts (and I believe, but don't know for sure, there are some specialized parts that are not otherwise readily available).

Here's a list of certified service locations in Connecticut: http://www.navtec.net/support/sales....es=Connecticut

We just had ours done. The parts should be available from any hydraulics shop. Our guy did both of ours for $150. Better than the Navtec dealer at $500.
