Free at Last?

anyone have advice (dumb question) on free standing masts and hardcore circumnavigation?

No experience with freestanding masts. But fwiw anything out of the norm is often harder to find a buyer for when selling up.

All I can say is that the Nonsuch line uses a free-standing mast.

I am looking into building a boat for mostly solo circumnavigation - Sponbergs designs intrigue me for there seeming ease of operation - There is also a "swing rig" from europe that looks interesting - anyone with personal experience would be nice to hear from
