Fiddle Block Help

The fiddle blocks on my running backstays are corroded and the little wheels are deformed and wiggly. Here is a picture of a new unit from West Marine. Their site says you can only get one from a retailer. However, I had a WM store check -- and none of their stores have any in stock. I found an identical second hand set at a used store, but they were corroded as well.

My question is this: What would be a comparable unit to use? Other fiddleblocks look different and they are different sizes, so I am not sure how to proceed. Thanks

Michael

Have you tried ebay? they seem to have a lot of the discontinued stuff. Or even Schaefer itself?

West Marine Customer Service

I tried Schaeffer -- the fiddleblock is discontinued. BUT.... a while back the inventory computer at the WM Alamitos Bay Store indicated that the WM Newport store had the blocks. I drove to Newport and they could not find them. So an employee filled out a carbon form with many boxes and fields and said she would send the form to the warehouse and to inventory and find what happened to the blocks. I think to myself .... ya right whatever. An hour ago the manager called and left a message on my phone saying they found both blocks and that they are holding them for me.

Nice going West Marine!
