By abroad I mean as related to where your boat / project
If your boat is in Italy
, start with checking out your Italian SS sources. Something is telling me they may be amongst the best in the EU.
Remember when the rigging
is old, it is ALL old. Depending on how the stays are anchored in the mast
, you may want to replace the mast
fittings that hold the SS wires as well (I call theses fittings the 'backing plates'). This is pretty common in alloy masts that are supported by SS wires.
Another element down the chain is the chainplates. Pull them out and check them AS A BARE MINIMUM. Bad ones have obvious corrosion
It is a small boat and so you will do so many things by yourself, look for savings where they are: e.g. by NOT hiring lame contractors you can shorten your boatyard time. This may be a saving in some cases.
Have fun fixing her up and then sailing her. E35 are fine boats and I may one day have one of them for my retirement
