'EasyGybe' Boom Brake

I was at the Stockholm boat show on the weekend and saw "Easygybe" on display and when watching the video thought it was an interesting idea and worth sharing.

From what I can work out, it does not seem to be on the market just yet.

Re: "Easygybe" boom brake

Looks interesting - I wonder if it needs to be used with a rigid boom vang? The part I like is that it does not seem to clutter the place up with a lot of lines.

Edit: OK, I found them. Here is the link with the list of products and prices. Danged expensive.

I never needed any on my boat, but I like the Wichard toy and will try it out one day.

Re: "Easygybe" boom brake

I have the Dutchman but would have rather had a Walder but they are a bit spendy. Boom Brake Walder
The dutchman just has a little back lash that is resolved in the Walder with the tension arms (wires). But I'm planning to manufacture some tension arms for my dutchman.

I have a used Walder from a previous boat to sell which is very similar to the Dutchman.
First $100 plus shipping gets it.

But she failed the line parted first.

PS the video is lying, it's not 27 MPH wind. look at the flag and waves. Maybe 12 kts.

I've been looking at the web site. Seems the smallest they make is more than big enough for my boat. Don't know who you consider first offer at this point, but I'd like it. How often do you make it to the mainland?
