Disassembly Lewmar Genoa Cars

I'm looking to replace the rubber "Angled Rubber Upstand" on my 15+ year-old Lewmar Genoa Cars (see photos). Per Lewmar support, they've identified the proper replacement part (25002313 SZ1 ANGLED RUBBER) and I have two on order. Once I receive them, I'm not sure how to install.

The attached assembly diagram is from a similar Lewmar car -- I'm assuming the older ones are similarly constructed. From this diagram, it looks like the pin through the top block ("Genoa Stirrup Assembly")
can be removed. Alternately, it looks like another pin (11) is buried on the bottom of the car securing the shackle (15).

Is it possible to remove the top pin without having to disassemble the entire base of the car to remove bottom pin?

Anyone have experience rebuilding these cars?

Thanks in advance for your help,
Don

Re: Disassembly Lewmar Genoa Cars

If anyone is interested, pin #11 (photo above) can be driven out which frees the shackle. You need a long pin punch.

Thanks a lot. I need to do this exact same thing to my boat.

I forgot to mention that you need to take the small pin out of #3 (track catch), then #4, #5 and #6 slide out of the base of the car. This came apart almost too easily. From there the bottom pin is accessible from the ends. I also cleaned the bottom of the car and used penetrating oil on the bottom pin before removing the pin. Now waiting for my replacement rubber parts. Good luck,
Don

Re: Disassembly Lewmar Genoa Cars

The angled rubber parts arrived and are the wrong size for my jib cars. The critical size is the width of the bottom shackle. The sizes of 25002313, (L) 1 3/8" x (W) 1" x (H) 1". Opening for shackle is 1" -- my shackle is 1 1/4". Per Lewmar, the larger size part number is 25000042. I'll order these and hope they fit.
