I remember I saw them at Center for Wooden Boats chandlery in Port Townsend, WA. Maybe some other CF member is close enough to check for you. Or you can call CWB directly.

Check "Schooner Chandlery" website. The owner is a C F member going by the same name. They have sources for stuff, including bits made for traditional boats.n

re: Deck Prisms...where to buy?

They had them at the Wooden Boat Center in Port Townsend, WA the last time I was there, but that was 5 years ago. You could use checking on them as a good excuse to go to the festival next month And odds are someone in PT knows where to source them, such as the Wooden Boat School there. Or most of the builders & boat shops in town.

Ditto on the same in Mystic, CT, as well as in say Maine. Plus the Wooden Boat Forums almost certainly. And as mentioned, our forum's resident Schooner Chandlery.

Also, I'd think that it wouldn't be much of a challenge to have a few machined out of acrylic. As I had some rectangular ones that were made out of such. And you'll get leads via a standard online search.

They can also be custom produced in most glass studios, not being so complicated shapes..

re: Deck Prisms...where to buy?

My Tayana came with 6 deck prisms. They are very effective in bringing light into the interior. After more than 25 years they needed replacement. I wanted exact replacements since I didn't want to modify the holes cut out in the deck to accommodate them. I was fortunate that Tayana was able to accommodate me with some old new stock. I did quite a bit of looking though and if I had to buy new ones from a current manufacturer I would have chosen these from Davey & Co.

http://www.greenboatstuff.com/dacobrandgld.html

What I like about them is that the prism is rabbited and captured between the deck and the bronze plate. My original prisms (from Hood, no longer manufactured) the glass prism is glued into its frame from above and not mechanically held down. In fairness they did last more than 25 years before beginning to drip.

In the end I went with identical old stock and I'm happy so far, but if I was starting from scratch I'd go with the Davey & Co product.

I've seen prisms from tank periscopes very cheap before, maybe eBay.

re: Deck Prisms...where to buy?

We bought one for a previous boat at Mystic Seaport, Mystic CT. Worked fine, I was surprised at no leaks. I had been told by several people that leaks were inevitable.
