De-Commissioning in Kemah, TX

Does anyone know a where I could have a sailboat de-commissioned in Kemah TX? The sailboat is located around Marine Bay Drive.
And do you know approx. what the cost would be. To save on costs, I'm sure I'm able to de-commission the boat myself if you know of a place with a tower/crane.
thank you
John

What exactly are you meaning to do?
Clear Lake Marine Center in Seabrook is a DIY yard. Travel lift, crane for pulling your stick, friendly people, most services covered.

Telephone number is 281-326-4426.

Only way I'm associated with the marina is, that's where I'm working on my boat at.

Both Seabrook and the yard at Watergate are owned by the same company and the costs will be the same. But what is de-commissioning? That could mean a a lot of things and cost are all over the map. Chuck

Donate the boat to one of the local charities or Boat Angle. They will take the boat and you can write it off on ye old income tax.

Re: De-Commissioning in Kemah, TX

De commissioning usually means taking down the rig and stripping the deck to get ready for haul or storage, is that what you need?
Clearlake marine center is great. South Texas in watergate is good too but no DIY from what I understand.

Re: De-Commissioning in Kemah, TX

yes, thank you so much for the info.
We are looking for a company that 'removes the stick' or somewhere we can do this ourselves. We are looking to purchase and then transport a sailboat to Seattle. Of course this requires the mast/rigging to be removed. If this is done while the boat is still in the water, it will save the cost of her sitting on the hard while she waits to be picked up. We were told the decommissioning would cost around $1500.00, so options are greatly appreciated!
Do you have an website or email for the company?
Thanks again.
John
