From Stalok website:
STA-LOK Terminals Ltd - Marine - Terminals - STA-LOK Terminals

  • STA-LOK terminals have been designed for use with stainless steel wire ropes. They should not be used with galvanised wire ropes because rapid galvanic action will cause the wire rope to corrode and fail.
  • STA-LOK terminals are not suitable for use with wire ropes with fibre cores.

Re: Cut the wire and make own standing rigging ?

For the best source of information about "Rigging" go to Brion Toss' website: Brion Toss Yacht Riggers, Sailboat Rigging

He is generally considered the "guru" of rigging and knows about all kinds of rigging from rope to galvanized to stainless steel to super hi-tech line and carbon.
