Class 2 eye splice double braid

I am about to purchase some 7/16 Samson MLX for jib sheets, and would like to splice eyes so that I can attach them with soft shackles. I am having a difficult time finding instructions for an eye splice with tail buried other than the NER instructions and the Premium Ropes video on youtube. The construction of the NER and Premium Ropes lines is somewhat different than the Samson MLX and I don't know enough about it to determine if it affects the splice or not.

My previous effort was using VPC, a product I came to detest not only for the difficulty in splicing the eyes, but also the way it hockled and felt on the boat. I could never get the cover tail to bury and ended up whipping it which created a 6" long section of line that was board stiff and always caught on the shrouds when tacking, defeating the original purchase.

So, does anyone have a decent set of instructions or helpful tips for a class 2 eye splice in MLX?

I have watched that however they don't bury the cover tail, which is what I'd prefer based on the experience noted in my original post.
