Bomar Hatch - Best Glue for Rubber Trim ?

Hi all,

Have Bomar hatches on an '84 C&C 41 (assume they are original, but not sure). The forward hatch has two pieces of rubber sealing trim. The first slips around the internal frame of the hatch and mates to the aluminum frame when the hatch is closed. This piece is in good repair with no issues. The second piece of rubber is a secondary U-shaped trim that fits on the outer edge of the hatch, protecting the first rubber trim when closed. This trim has started to come loose from the port, rear edge.

I need suggestions for glue/adhesives that will work on this rubber and aluminum combination. So far I have tried a few things (super-glue, Loctite Stik'n Seal) as we crossed the Pacific but nothing holds it permanently. Also suggestions for cleaning the rubber and aluminum of old products without damage?

Anyone had something that works for this problem? Thoughts appreciated in advance!

Photo attached. (Note to other sharp-eyed CF users, the original supports to hold the hatch open snapped off. You might notice the adhesive stains on the inside of the hatch. We use a fender to hold the hatch open at varying angles, and this also is putting stress on the rubber trim)

I re-gasketed all my hatches and ports. I used a good quality contact cement, It has been almost two years and they are in solid. I got my gasket material from McMaster Carr.
Hope that helps,
Erika

P.S.
3m adhesive remover works great to get the old glue off and is safe on aluminium and painted surfaces.
