Block-and-Tackle Setup

Hi All,

I'm looking for a block and tackle, with at least a 10:1 ratio, that is made for human hoisting. Most of the ones I found for sale say "not for human support". Any ideas would be appreciated!

Thanks...Jeff

A "approved" bosun's chair tackle assembly must have, among many other requirements, a minimum breaking strength of 5,000 pounds.
Look under professional window cleaning equipment.

Look up the ratio, buy the line and blocks to specs, build one.

That would require quite a bit of line for going up a mast. A 60 foot mast would require at least 600 feet of line. Would a 6:1 purchase work for you?

There are grips that mountain climbers use where you use your leg muscles, which are much stronger.
