Best Prices on Amsteel/dyneema

Was shopping around for more dyneema. I've been buying from WM and Defender.
Anyone find a good price on these lines?

Re: Best Prices on Amsteel/dyneema

How much are you buying at a time? I usually look for deals online, but I have gotten some really good deals from the local sail loft when they need to sell ends, or rejected lines.

Just a few places worth checking:
APS
Online Ropes- has decent prices for 600' spools

For small stuff, you can check out fishing supply shops. I use a lot of 80lbs test dyneema fishing line to sew patches, and for lock stitching.

Re: Best Prices on Amsteel/dyneema

Thanks, will try the sail lofts, great idea. So far, aborist sites are 40 cents cheaper per foot for the 1/4. I'm making soft shackles so would like a breaking strength about 8,000. We did see a good deal last night for 200ft, thought it would be good for emergency rigging and such. But I'm not familiar with the company so thought to post this thread to get some reliable leads.
Thanks
Erika

Wow that's a good deal! I was debating going up a size, just wasn't sure about how to size this new synthetic stuff! Will probable go with 5/16 now, thanks.

Re: Best Prices on Amsteel/dyneema

You'll do a lot better on Amsteel if you go to a company that does the bulk of their business selling to commercial fisherman, arborists, or loggers like LFS in Washington State (LFS Inc. • Bellingham Glove, Wonder Grip Gloves • Commercial and Recreational Marine Supplies • Netting).

I make a lot of Soft Shackles of different sizes, so I order a bit of everything and the shipping is good also.

+1 on Redden OG. Most of their clients are ocean fishermen, and that in combination with them just down the street from the factory you can get great deals. I know them personally and would not hesitate to order from them. They are a smaller shop, and they will do volume discounts:-)
