Anyone replaced Goiot traveler wheels?

Our recently acquired project vessel needs new wheels on the Goiot traveler car. A new car or traveler is probably not in the budget at this point, and while a recent thread had some suggestions for new wheels, I am wondering if anyone has actually replaced the wheels? I have a local shop that I believe could press out the axles, but then I'm wondering what a good replacement wheel material would be?

I am aware RigRite lists wheels which may fit this car, however after just spending almost $200 for four boom end sheaves and an end cap, I am hoping for a slightly more economical solution for the car wheels
