Advice needed

I am buying a new main sail and roller furling job. I want a white sunbrella uv cloth on the jib but everyone tells me colour repeals the uv better. Any thoughts? I like the look of all white sails,

I agree that white UV covers look significantly better. I've always gone that way with sails I've had built, and have never known the covers to wear out while the sail was still viable.

Of course, I don't try to get twenty years out of a suit of sails.

Not sure how significant the color choice is concerning UV protection, but I've heard the same thing. I match my UV color on the furler with the main sail cover.

You can always use an ATN genoa sleeve instead of a suncover on the sail. Sunbrella weighs about 9oz and impairs light air performance. If you're open to using a sleeve, then you could go with a UV Dacron suncover which would protect the sail when you leave the boat without putting the sleeve on.
