Z-Brane

I am considering purchesing a Spectra watermaker with the Z-Brane option.
Does anyone know how much power it consumes? I understand it needs to on continuously is this correct?
Finally does it work?
Thanks John

The electrical specs for a Z-brane are,
Input 12-30 VDC
Output 35KV DC @ 100uA

As you can see power consumption is very little.
As far as running a Z-Brane continuosly, it all depends. Every cruiser has different habits of operating their unit than the next. How you personally intend to use your unit will be more of a detemining factor than a generic answer. It gets a bit detailed. If you'd like to PM me I'd be more than happy to cover all the bases with you before you make your decision.
Finally, yes it does work.

Thanks for the info. That translates to 0.035W (assuming 100% conversion. It wont be 100%, but I would hope the efficiency to be high ) It is unusual Spectra do not seem to list the 12v consumption anywhere.
I will PM you with how I plan to use the watermaker.
