Re: what size holding tank do i have?

This is really simple and I have to chuckle

Take a funnel and put it in the fill
Take a 5 gallon bucket
Take a hose
Have someone else count

Now, fill the bucket
pour it into the funnel
Repeat till full
Multiple counts x 5 gallons

How hard can this be.. and I agree, 40-50g is large for this sort of boat

We don't call those holding tanks. Potable tank maybe or fresh tank, but not holding.

About as clear as what is in a Holding Tank......bad stuff.

Tayana's do have large "fresh water tanks" so back to the easy solutions that you have been given to figure out how big it is.

If you have already filled it and it took 55 minutes, just see how long it takes the same hose to fill a five gallon bucket and do the math.

And NEVER the twain shall meet. However, I have seen fuel go into all of them, and water go into fuel. Not on my boat thankfully!
Know what you ar talking about and be really clear with people on the docks or you too can have this problem.

And Stu is so right! This will be interesting.

250 gallons? Rounding off, that is roughly 1000 liters or 1 CUBIC meter of space. A cubic meter is 3.3 feet x3.3 feet x 3.3 feet. That is one hell of a huge tank in a 45 foot boat. Just measure the outside of the tank and do a little math. But a 1000 liter crapper tank is just beyond belief.

Sorry about this, I only read the 1 page - ok FRESH water tank - still a huge damn tank on a 45 ft boat.

Re: Wwhat Size Holding Tank do I Have?

Well that makes much more sense now that you have clarified that we are not discussing a "holding tank" but rather a water tank! We have a 40 foot boat with a 160 gal water tank.... So it is quite possible that on your boat you have a 200 or more gallon water tank.
As suggested on one of the other posts....just fill a five gallon bucket with the same hose...open the same amount and you can calculate what you have.
More important is having a gauge that will let you know how much water you have left in the tank....that way you can keep tabs on your actual usage.
