Wick Pump

I have a area where a small amount of water accumulates from packing gland. Has anyone used a wick to move unwanted water to bilge?

Re: Wick Pump

A wick will move liquid slowly down hill. A wick in a lamp is only transferring a small amount of fuel up hill. If your drip is small, a wick might pickup the water and evaporate it as fast as it occurs.

Wick Pump

I use a micro fiber cloth as a wick to move unwanted water from the aft part of the deck at times when boat trim is stern heavy and rain won't drain to the deck drains. Takes water up over a 4" toe rail and drips off the boat about 3" below deck level.

You must be able to divert to a level below your drip. Hope that helps.
