What kind of deck pump out is this?

Hi,

I am assuming this is a holding tank pump out... but I have never seen a kind that sticks up. Can someone help me identify what kind of connector this is?

Thanks!

It appears someone has screwe a gavanized (?) reducing fitting/nipple into a deck fitting. Is that a water fill? maybe so a hose can be attached...?

That looks like an adapter to the quick connect on a poo sucker hose. Unscrew it and put a proper cap on if you wish.

Very nice. A DIY toe-stubber. One of many little surprises left behind by an inventive previous owner?

Its an SWWU fitting. (sleep-walker-waker-upper)

Seriously, I'm with Cheech--maybe a back flush fitting ?

Its not a water fill... there are two of those on the port side and this is above the head... I think Cheechako and SailMonkey are right and its an adapter.

Can you trace the hose back? To me it looks like a pressure reducer coupling to connect a shore water hose to providing pressure water without using you water tanks.

True! If it were not the pump out, I am not sure where it would be!

That is a camlock fitting the female end is on the pumpout hose at most marinas.

I thought it looked like part of a wash-down system for cleaning off your anchor chain when it comes up.... is it near the bow? Attach hose and see if it sprays salt water. That would be my guess.

But sniff first in case the boys know their stuff.
