Oh, no no no.

We haven't even STARTED talking about anchors, guns, politics, global warming, Fukushima radiation, vegan vs. carnivore recipes, or the disadvantages of single and multi-hull designs.

At the risk of high jacking the thread pressure kerosene stoves work just fine for some folks. They take a bit of getting used to and most of the complaints listed here are through operator error.

We have them on both boats, they work as well or better than propane, fuel is safe and cheap and available, they are simple and can be almost infinitely repaired. And they can't blow up.

Some folks seem to be very sensitive to the aroma, but we are sufficiently steeped in it that we find it homey, and it does keep unwanted guest s out. If they are particularly hard to get rid of I just start the stove a little cold and the one foot yellow flame has 'em gone in no time.

Not that it's any of my business, but do you know who else called it "Goodwin"?

Also, if anyone has a stove with priming cups I have taken to using hand sanitizer gel for priming, the stuff works great! You can apply the amount accurately and it doesn't slosh or spill. Also easy to find.

It does leave a trace of white residue when it burns off but that wipes off with a damp paper towe
