Whale Diverter Valve Mounting Options (1-1/2")???

I just bought this thing, very happy to own it, but i t comes with NO mounting instructions nor any available on the internet.
I called Whale's technical assistance today, the fellow put me on hold to ask someone else this question for me.
I asked him " what are my mounting options? left? right? upside down?
He says "mount the inlet port any position other than top (upright).

Can I get a confirmation?

Thanks,

Whale, 1-1/2" Diverter Y Valve

Re: Whale Diverter Valve Mounting Options (1-1/2")???

Had the same question 2 years ago. Whale called Ireland (where they are made) and the answer is any position is fine as long as no extra pressure is exerted (such as if your vent is clogged) in the system. Thus, I installed mine with the handle in the down position - thus far, no leaks or odor.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Steven

Yes, it helped thanks. I mounted it with inlet to the side and its functioning properly.

But I must say that the technical boy that they had me speak to at Whale on seperate occasions knew neither questions. He had to put me on hold to ask someone. He didn't seem convincing with his explanation only for me to end the conversation with a lack of confidence in Whale.
Therefore leading me to asking here on cruisersforum. Also he had some attitude.
