Watermaker Brine Discharge Location?

Hi all,

My new to me boat came with a PUR watermaker, (36E I think). It had several spare overhaul kits, so I did a complete overhaul of it, and everything appears to work fine, but my brine discharge has not been plumbed to the outside. Any suggestions? The WM itself is mounted on the starboard side in a location that would be easy to add a small thru-hull.

So, should I mount it high on the side with a loop above the thru-hull? Would any of you bother with a valve on the thru-hull (maybe an in-line valve would work), as the tubing is only 3/8 or so?

All input is welcome.

Cheers, Bill

Re: Watermaker Brine Discharge Location?

The various systems on my boat were installed with the intakes on one side of the keel and the discharges on the other. Avoiding recirculation seemed to be a good idea.

Re: Watermaker Brine Discharge Location?

Bill,

My WM is intalled near head sink, so I tee'd the sink hose and shared the thru-hull.
