Re: Watermaker

Hi Tellie,

We had quite an exercise to get the unit working in the beginning but when we finally got it to work it produced plenty of good water.
The problem now is we can not stop the leaks around the caps of the pressure tubes were the end caps fit into the tubes. No amount of new o rings make a difference. This was one of the original problems which we solved by putting 2 o rings on instead of 1 but that is not working now.
With all the mucking around We have decided that the only answer is to buy the tubes and membranes from another supplier.

Yeah, this is a constant problem many people who bought DIY watermakers have experienced. As frustrating as it must be for you the best answer for those leaking membrane vessels is to buy from another supplier a better quality membrane vessel, the ones you have are just not up to the task. Again good luck and if there is anything I can help with let me know. I know suppliers for these parts if your not sure where to turn.

Hi Ceedee, if you were able to get a seal when using two orings then this appears that the tubes are not aligned properly are they cut square etc so that the cap fits properly? the other thing you could try is lubricating the o rings this makes a massive difference in the sealing of orings. a silicone grease is normally used, if this won't interfere with the running use it or, something that is natural and edible perhaps some mutton fat it would possibly work, but if your trying to only get a seal this is what is used on water filters every time they are re assembled in the swimming pool industry.
